Match Review

16th August 2000 Burton Joyce 7 v 1 Ruddington - (Friendly)
Scorers: James Bird(2), James Clark(2), Sam Smith, Mathew Powroznyk, Ruddington o.g.

This was one of the team's best performances to date. An unfortunate own goal by Ruddington in the first 2 minutes got BJ off to a good start, the remainder of the first half saw BJ remain on top with James Bird scoring the second after a good shot by Sam Smith rebounded off their goalkeeper. Ruddington pulled one back making the half time score 2-1.

In the second half BJ were very much on top, although to Ruddington's credit they never gave up. James Bird added a third early on with Mathew Powroznyk adding a fourth. Sam Smith was unlucky to hit the post but made sure a few minutes later to make it five. James Clark added two more to make the final score 7-1.

Verdict : A superb team effort all round. Passing was great and the team maintained their shape despite numerous player changes.

Manager's Comment : "What can I say - very well done to all who played! We are all now looking forward to the new season."
